The world lost a bright ray of light and joy with the loss of Rachael Haley Maxwell. Born on December 21, 1994, in Houston, TX, Rachael passed away in her sleep on Christmas morning, December 25, 2024, in her hometown of Wichita, KS. In her short 30 years, Rachael was a bright soul whose main goal in life was to be happy and to share that happiness and joy with others. She deeply loved her family, her boyfriend, and animals of every sort. She enjoyed arts and crafts and the entire rainbow of colors. She also enjoyed reading books and watching movies. Rachael especially enjoyed spending time with her family and was a wonderful and loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, she never lost her childlike innocence, which allowed her to connect with her nieces and nephews on their level. Rachael had an infectious laugh and an absolute magical ability to make people smile. She always cared deeply about the happiness of those around her. Rachael is preceded in death by her mother, Tammy Maxwell and her grandparents, Robert & Valeta Loos and Gerald & Teresa Maxwell, and by her niece, Emily Maxwell. She is survived by her grandmother, Gloria Chestnut; her father and mother, Doug & Lisa Maxwell; and her siblings, Zachary (Jana) Maxwell, Jacob Maxwell, Jarred (Kate) Maxwell, and Haleigh (Nathan) Thom; and by the love of her life, Laron Dass, Jr.; and by a family of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as her nieces, Cassie, Jordan, Sofia, Leilani, Charlotte, and Ellis; and nephews, Jackson, Landon, Lincoln, Prestyn, and Palmer. The holy rosary for Rachael will be at 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2025, and her Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday, January 3rd, both held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Wichita.
