Ralph Robert Devlin, Sr., 75 of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017. He was born in Chicago, IL, February 22, 1942, to Gertrude P. Wilcox and James E. Devlin, Sr. The family moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1951 and Ralph attended Blessed Sacrament. He graduated from Southeast High School in 1960 and Kansas Newman University in 1971. He was a Rent-A-Center Franchisee in Ohio and the Phoenix area. He is survived by his 3 sons, Robert (Tara) of South Carolina, David Refior (Denise) of Nebraska, Ralph Devlin Jr. (Nichole) of Arizona; brothers, Frank Devlin (Marilyn) of Texas, Tom Devlin (Myra) of Wichita; sister, Mary Pottebaum (Bob) of Arizona; 10 grandchildren; 4 nephews; 2 nieces. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and brother, James E. Devlin, Jr. Ralph enjoyed hunting, golf, playing cards and being a member of the Arizona Classic Thunderbird Club. He was an avid reader and had a collection of over a thousand books. He loved to travel all over the world and enjoyed collecting art. Ralph was honored to serve his country in the U.S. Army National Guard in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. The funeral service will be held at Blessed Sacrament, Wichita, Kansas on Thursday, September 7, 2017, 10:00 a.m. Graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas immediately following. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Folded Flag Foundation, Inc., Attn: Tim Mullin, 1701 Village Center Circle, Ste 100, Las Vegas, NV 89134. Downing & Lahey Mortuary East, Wichita, Kansas.
