Raphael Zephyr Letourneau, Sr. Raphael was born on June 10, 1924 on a farm outside of Aurora, KS. He died February 12, 2017 in Mulvane, KS. He is survived by his children, Donald (Deborah), Nancy (Phil) Volmer, Judy (Eric) Forsse, Mary (Pete) Mora, Karen (Gregg) Oblinger, Raphael Jr (Vicki), Kevin (Deanne), John, Renee (Dennis) Keffer, Sister Ann, CSJ, and Kent (Christina); his sister, Belle Haynie; 26 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bessie; his parents, Ronald and Reina (Morrissette); his brother, Dean Letourneau; his sister, Jean (Letourneau) Carter; and his grandson, Michael Volmer. Ray served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1947 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was employed by Eby Construction Company for 39 years. He married Bessie Nell Fore on August 20, 1949 in Woodward, Oklahoma. He was an avid K-State fan holding season football tickets for 40 years. He was active in Serra Club and Knights of Columbus and a long-time parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Parish. Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 15, 2017; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 16, 2017, both at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
