Reed E. Edgington

Reed Ellis Edgington, 64, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015. He was born in Wichita November 27, 1950 to parents Leo and Bea Edgington. After graduation from Southeast High School he attended Wichita State University where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He transferred to the University of Kansas and graduated from the School of Pharmacy in 1975. In 1978 he began a partnership in pharmacy with Gary Damm. They owned and operated businesses in Wichita, Derby, Rose Hill and Andover over a 35 year span. In 1979 he married Brenda Burgoyne. They had two children. Reed had a love of the outdoors and shared experiences canoeing, camping, skiing, and climbing with his family and friends. Family vacations were always important to Reed with travel to many national parks and cities. He was a season ticket holder to WSU and KU basketball for many years. He was an artist at heart and transformed found objects into yard and house dcor. Reed sincerely cared about others and was one of the truly nice people. He was preceded in death by parents and sister, Lea Edgington Vitalich. Those surviving Reed are wife, Brenda; son, Cooper (Paige); daughter, Lauren; and many life-long friends. Services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, August 20 at East Heights United Methodist Church, 4407 E Douglas, Wichita, KS. Family greeting will follow the services.
