Regan, Reverend Monsignor Charles W., died on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Catholic Care Center. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. on January 9, 2011 and a Vigil service will be recited on Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. at the Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E 21st St N. Wichita, KS 67206. He was the son of the late Charles W. and Mary A. (Doherty) Regan. Preceded by brother, Patrick J. and sisters, Mary Jean DeWitt and Anna Marie Llewellyn. Survivors: brother, Daniel W. of Wichita, KS; sister, Sister Kathleen Regan, CSJ of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, June Regan of Denver, CO and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins; many brothers and sisters in Christ. He was ordained to the Priesthood March 29, 1958 by Bishop Mark K. Carroll. Some of his pastoral assignments included St. Johns in Iola, and Holy Savior Parish in Wichita. Msgr. Regan served as pastor of St. Vincent de Paul in Andover, Church of the Magdalen and Christ the King parishes in Wichita. In July, 1964 Msgr. Regan was appointed as the Diocesan Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Wichita, and served in that capacity for 15 years. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Regan Education Endowment Fund and the Priests Retirement Fund, both c/o Catholic Diocese of Wichita, 424 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202. Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Vigil service will be recited on Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. at the Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E 21st St N. Wichita, KS 67206.

  1. Monsignor Regan,was to me a great encourager and source of spiritual inspiration. As a Christ the King parishioner,CYO youth leader and pro-life sidewalk counselor Many conversations related to the power of the Holy Spirit. I remember asking him one time about a visionary and his reply was one I have never forgotten, he said there is a miracle at each Mass, when the bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ it is a miracle.
