Rod, Sandi and family, We are very sorry for your loss. We have fond memories of Delmar and the big family dinners and the horseback riding. He will be remembered and he will be missed. Joe and Wendy Mcgraw
A caring man. A man-for-all-seasons who would go out of his way to ease the burdens of others. And treasured the time spent with family camping or fishing or just being there. And his horse’s—time to relax and renew. Delmar you will be missed!
You have our prayers and our condolences we wish we could be there. More often than not I would deal with a situation in the church and I would ask “how would brother Becker do” and it was usually the right solution. He was my pastor and will never forget his influence on my life. May God bless you during this difficult period in your life.
Delmar was the only one to call me his little indian girl. He’ll be missed. Prayers to all of the family.
I believe that everyone of us have people in our lives that help shape the entirety of our lives. This person can have a negative or positive impact. Delmar Becker (and his entire family) was the greatest blessing in my life after I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord. I was 7 years old when my father, Alvin Leonard Maston, died from a massive heart attack. He was 46 years old. My mom and I faced life without a husband and a dad. As I grew up the absence of a father began to reveal itself in my life choices. I left home and moved to Colorado Springs which eventually brought me to Sarasota FL. I continued down the wrong path which eventually brought me to a “Saturday Night in Sarasota” where I surrendered my Life to Christ. My new life in Christ was vibrant and exciting. I attended services and absorbed every word of my Pastor’s message. One Sunday the message was about family and resulted in a conviction in my heart to reconcile with my Mom. With a long overdue phone call and the confidence that God would take care of me I set out to Wichita KS where my mom had moved to. With a bus ticket in hand, I simply left everything I had in Florida – my 69 Camaro, personal belongings and 70 degree weather in February and headed to Wichita (18 degrees). Before I left FL my church prayed over me that God would direct me to a good church. My mom couldn’t meet me because of her job, so I walked from the Bus Station to her apartment. On that path from the Bus Station to my mom’s apartment God answered prayer when I walked across the yard of the Northwest Church of God. God told me that this was the Church I was to attend. “Brother B” became my pastor, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. His fatherly advice & love filled my heart. His patience and wisdom became the foundation God wanted to instill in my life. I find it hard to capture the words necessary to describe his impact on my life. He truly had a “Pastor’s Heart” and loved every person he met. A young man saved by the grace of God needed a Godly man to help him find God’s path for life. Thank you “Brother B” for letting me be a part of your family and getting me on that path. With all my love, Dan K. Maston
Dear Family of Pastor Becker: I deliver Meals on Wednesdays to the Becker’s and always enjoyed his caring personality. He enjoyed being outside with his dog or just sitting. I hope you have many memories of him in your life. Blessings, Arlyn Smith
To my old friend David Becker, I am so sorry for your loss. I know who you are so I know who your father was. I knew it when we were younger but it took a long time to understand. God bless your father and God bless you my friend. Sending you love, Glenn Alexander
