Riley, Rex, 87, retired cattleman, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005. Visitation 7:00 ~ 8:30 P.M., Friday and service 11:00 A.M., Saturday, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. A combat veteran during World War II, he entered the U.S. Army in 1936, serving first in the 2nd Cavalry and later as a sergeant in the 9th Armored Divisions 89th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron. His favorite activity was bowling, which he enjoyed for 40 years. Survivors: wife, Helen (Hill) Riley; sons, Rex Allen Riley of Wichita and Kim Riley and his wife Peggy, of Manhattan, KS; grandchildren, Jimilee Riley of Manhattan, KS and Sean Riley of Marshall, MO. A memorial has been established with Metropolitan Baptist Church, 525 W. Douglas, Wichita, KS, 67213.
Visitation 7:00 ~ 8:30 P.M., Friday, Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
