Rhodora Mae “Dodie” Faulconer, 81, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014. Visitation with the family, 5-7 p.m., Monday, October 27; Rosary, 11 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 a.m., both Tuesday, October 28, all at Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Dodie was born and raised in Vinita, Oklahoma and later raised her own family in Wichita. Along with being a devoted mother, Dodie was a career registered nurse for 60 years following her graduation from St. Francis School of nursing in 1954. After starting and running the St. Francis Cancer Unit with Dr. H. Hynes, Dodie joined the American Red Cross and retired in 2003 after many years of service. She then worked tirelessly during her retirement giving thousands of hours to Via Christi as a volunteer along with her involvement with the St. Francis Historical Society and Alumni. Preceding her in death were her loving husbands, William G. Cutcliff and John O. Faulconer, and her parents, Lawrence and Virginia Privett. Survivors: sons, Larry Cutcliff and Joe Cutcliff; daughter, Rhodora Smith; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Cutcliff, all of Wichita; grandchildren, Toby, Paul, Rueben, Troy, Jenni, C.J., Shade and Keifer; great-grandchildren, Michael, Rhodora “Savanaha” and Brooklyn.
