Rhonda K. Shank, 68, of Peoria, AZ, Retired School Administrative Assistant from USD 266, died Sunday, September 26, 2021. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Friday, October 1, 2021, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Country Acres Baptist Church. Rhonda enjoyed cooking, reading and volunteering in various church ministry programs. She was best known for her baking, infectious smile, unconditional friendship and her love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Preceded in death by her father, Edward C. Yousey; mother, Helen P. Yousey; and sister, Barb Yoder. Survived by her husband, Dave Shank of Peoria, AZ; daughter, Erin Simmons of Colorado Springs, CO; son, Brad Shank of Peoria, AZ; brother, Don Yousey of Rotunda West, FL; sisters, Jan Diller of Hesston, KS, Carolyn Kaufman of Lawrence, KS; and six grandchildren. The family suggests Memorial Contributions to: New Valley Downtown Church, ABLE Project, 1801 E. Osborn Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85016; or Christ’s Church of the Valley, Resource Center, 7007 W Happy Valley Rd., Peoria, AZ 85383-3223.

  6. Dave, Rhonda, Deb and me and good friends Spider and KimmyLou were in the TURF CLUB at Churchill Downs enjoying a day of horse racing. While Rhonda and Dave were not drinking – everyone else was. I started to tell a slightly off color joke and hesitated; Rhonda said with a huge smile “go ahead and do it – y’all won’t remember it tomorrow any way!” God Bless the Shank Family…..the DICKEY Family of KY
