Richard Glynn Bradley, 78, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Wichita, Kansas.

Richard was born on January 25, 1947, in Denton, Texas. His family soon moved to Snyder, in western Texas, where he was raised. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University before proudly serving in the United States Air Force. An accomplished pilot, he attained the rank of Captain and was honorably discharged after 11 years of dedicated service.

In August of 1971, Richard married the love of his life, Sharon. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family and service. Their son, Douglas, was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in 1973, followed by their daughter, Sonya, born in Big Spring, Texas, in 1976. After leaving the Air Force, the family moved to Hays, Kansas, where Richard continued his career in civil service as a government accountant. He retired in 2007, after which he and Sharon relocated to Wichita, Kansas to be closer to their children and growing families.

Richard was a beloved father to his two children and proud “Papa” to his five grandchildren. His lifelong faith was important to him and Richard was a dedicated member of his church and Sunday school class. He was an avid woodworker who enjoyed taking on projects of all kinds around his home. He also loved traveling with Sharon, spending time with his family, and doting on their dogs. Above all else, Richard was devoted to those he loved and cherished time spent together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobart Lynn and Daisy Christine Bradley, and his sister, Lynnda Bradley.

Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon Bradley; his son, Doug (Holly) Bradley; his daughter, Sonya Walker; and his beloved grandchildren, Aspen Walker, Dane Bradley, Isabel Walker, Duncan Bradley, and Holden Bradley.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 7901 W. 21st St., Wichita, KS 67205.
