Richard P. Brown, Jr., 94, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024, in Wichita, KS. Service will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 1321 N. Stratford in Wichita, KS on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Richard was born on August 21, 1929, to Richard P. Brown, Sr. and Irene Rabik Brown, in Chicago, IL. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and went on to work at Cessna as an accountant in the corporate finance department where he retired. Richard never married but was rich in family and friends and had many lifelong passions: music, skiing, learning, political science, and bridge. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jackie Brown, Maureen Brown Hammond (Robert), and James Brown; nephew, Doug Hammond; and great-nephew, Jeremy Hammond. Richard is survived by his nieces, Lauire Hammond Onstott (John) of Colorado Springs, CO, Susan Hammond Hornbeck (Steve) of Derby, KS, and Leslie Hammond of Wichita, KS; and their children, Emily Hornbeck (Conor) of Fort Collins, CO, Eric Hornbeck of NC, Will Onstott (Alana) of Woodinville, WA, and Ellie Onstott of Kansas City, KS. Richard had many friends but none closer than Mike Aaron who he met in fourth grade and became lifelong friends. Mike and his wife, Georgia, were a second family to Richard. Thank you to the Aaron Family for your love and support. Richard was preceded in death by Mike and Georgia Aaron. He is survived by Mike and Georgia’s children, Mary Pat Aaron (Kevin Jones) of Wichita, KS, Susan Aaron Moller (Stephan) of Woodinville, WA, Rita Snider (Al) of Wichita, KS, Vincent Aaron (Mary) of Wichita, KS, Jaculyn Aaron of Kansas City, MO, and Martie Aaron Ross (Philip) of Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 161 N. Clark, Ste. 3550, Chicago, IL 60601. An organization whose mission Richard supported. Richard had two brothers, a nephew, and a great nephew who died from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.

You were so supportive of me with the issues I had to deal with at my mother’s death. You will always be on my “A” list. Thank you
