Sherry, Richard T., 46, owner and operator of Richards Restorations, died Friday, February 3, 2006. Service 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 6, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Preceded in death by his parents, Morris Sherry and Adeline Sherry Featherston and Robert Featherston. Survivors: wife, Renae (Eckerle) Sherry; son, Matthew Ryan Howell; step-son, Harold Wesley Houpt, III; brother, Alan Sherry; sister, Sandy Diel (Ronald); step-sister, Carol Wertz; nephews, Jordan and Marshall Goldschmidt and Brad Sherry; niece, Jennifer Ligon (Josh); one great-niece; two great-nephews, all of Wichita. Memorials have been established with Mid-Kansas Jewish Federation, 400 N. Woodlawn, S-8, Wichita, KS, 67206 and Congregation Emanu-El, 7011 E. Central, Wichita, KS, 67206.

Sandy and family, as you well know, I was with Richard for almost 15 years and loved him very much, we went through some very rocky times and had alot of problems, I straightened out and then he married, but we stayed in contact and I loved him like a brother, and I only just found out about his death last month. I was devastated. I was so proud of his talents with restoring bicycles, his cooking and his love of cars and trucks, especially his blue suburban. About a month or so before he died, he called me and sounded very happy, he had a job and was doing well in rehab, ready to get out. I told him to stay on the right track and get healthy, I would always be someone to talk to when he was down. I will miss him so very much, peace to him and may he be with God.
