Ricky Joseph Glazier, age 61, of Cheney, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ricky graduated from North High School in Wichita, Kansas in 1975 and completed an apprenticeship with The Coleman Company. He worked for Coleman for 40+ years and was serving as a Lead Model Maker at the time of his death. Through his work with Coleman, he was instrumental in developing and modeling new products that improve the outdoor experience including the Coleman RoadTrip Grill. Ricky was even named employee Achiever of the Year for the entire Coleman Company in 1993. He took great pride in his work and in raising a family with his wife of 40 years. He was the “World’s Greatest Fisherman”, a legacy which he passes on to his children. He also enjoyed hunting, boating, family gatherings, and music. The Rosary for Ricky will be at 7 p.m., Friday, June 7, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, at St. Mary’s Aleppo Catholic Church, 25741 W. 13th St. N., Garden Plain, KS 67050. Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Laverne and Mary. He is survived by his: wife, Diannia; daughter, Jennifur (Kevin) Gorman of Wichita; sons, Jesse (Stephanie) Glazier of Garden Plain, James (Jerrica) Glazier of Augusta; sisters, Crystal Rowell and Jean (Steve) Nance; brother, Perry (Cindy) Glazier all of Wichita; 6 grandchildren: Ben, C.J., Madison, Michael, Matthew and Marshall; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials are established with the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, 512 Southeast 25th Ave., Pratt, KS 67124 and Boy Scouts of America, Quivira Council, 3247 N. Oliver, Wichita, KS 67220.
