He met his wife, Martha, at the University of Texas and they were married in 1939. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1940 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He was called to active duty in the Army in January of 1942 and reported to Ft. Benning, GA, as a First Lt. in the Infantry. He fought for 210 days in the European Theater and he was promoted to Lt. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Dear Winnette and Jeanette, We are backdoor neighbors to your parents and have had almost 20 years of good memories of knowing them better. Our parents used to take trips with Martha and Bob, along with Sid and Barbara Platt and we always enjoyed hearing the stories. Our children are all grown now and so we have been out of town when both of your parents passed. Our other home in Colo. Springs is in Kissing Camels and so the next time we are out perhaps we can at least meet one of you. If Dana is not still looking after the house for you, please feel free to call me to check on things. We use many of the same service people…thanks to your folks recommendations! Our #316-646-1208. The world feels so different without our parents in it! Peace be with you all. Bill & Patti Edison 9026 E. Crestwood Ct. Wichita.
