Howse, Robert “Bob” Harrell, born June 18, 1952, passed away on Monday, March 4, at 1:05 p.m. Rosary will be at 6:00 P.M., Friday, March 8, 2013; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 9, 2013, both at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Bob is survived by his wife Emilie, and children: daughter Makala and son-in-law Landon Taylor, sons Cramer and Daniel; Father, William Howse; sisters, Mary von Merveldt and Joan Lewis. Bob was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. He attended Fabrique Elementary School, Robinson Middle School, and Southeast High School. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity at the University of Kansas where he graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts. After college, Bob entered the Insurance business with his father and continued in that industry where he was most recently employed by Willis of Kansas. Bob was a gifted musician, who played the piano, guitar and drums. He was a founding member of the band Dewy and the Big Dogs. Bob also loved to play tennis and golf. He played tennis regularly with a group of men for over 30 years. He was the consummate practical joker and was known for his incredible sense of humor. He was beloved by his family and many, many friends and business associates. His passing has left a giant hole in the universe.
