Robert H. Melzer, 81, retired Boeing Design Engineer, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He passed away at Harry Hynes Hospice St. Francis. Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, January 19, 2024, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Rosary will be at 10:00 am, Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, both on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. and Dora F. Melzer. Survived by his wife, Joan C. Melzer; son, Robert "Rob" J. Melzer; blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Memorials have been established with: Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 S. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, and Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.

Always enjoyed visiting with Bob when out riding our bikes or when I would see him in Walmart. A friendly and engaging guy.
