Robert L. Anderson

Robert "Bob" L. Anderson, 93, Social Worker, died Saturday, July 29, 2017. Viewing will be from 3:00 pm 9:00 pm, Thursday, August 3, 2017 and 8:00 am 9:00 pm Friday, August 4, 2017 both at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Reformation Lutheran Church. Graveside Service will be at 1:30 pm at Lakeview Cemetery. Bob was born on November 11, 1923 in Omaha, NE to Maude & Elmer Anderson the 2nd of 3 boys. He was educated in Omaha public schools; earned his Bachelors Degree at Midland College, Fremont, NE and his Masters Degree at University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE. He served in the United States Army Air Corp for 3 years during WWII as Radar Operator and instructor with B29 groups. He practiced clinical social work for 55 years in Nebraska and Kansas. Bob and Shirley were married on May 17, 1953 in Omaha, NE. They became members of Reformation Lutheran Church in 1966. Bob led a high school church club, ushered and was a member of the lawn care team. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Kirk; brother, Jack. Survived by his wife, Shirley Anderson; sons, Craig (Kathy), Kim (Debra); brother, Leonard (Carla); 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS, 67202.
