Robert Laverne "Bob" Barbour, 75, was born August 15, 1941, to Robert and Skippy Barbour in Cullison, KS. He passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Bob was a loving husband of nearly 50 years, to the late Carolyn Barbour. An avid athlete during his youth, while living in Dodge City, Bob made All State in baseball and golf. Honorably, he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, as a missile launcher. Upon returning stateside, he graduated from Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia. Bob built lasting friendships on the golf course, in the bowling alley, and while square dancing. His talent and passion for golf earned him a hole-in-one in 1997. Faithfully, Bob spent 30 years with the Rainbo Baking Company providing for the ones he loved. As a devoted father and grandfather, he delighted in his family. His generous heart lives on in those who had the privilege of loving him. Bob is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Rhonda McKibbin of Valley Center, son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Stacy Barbour of Valley Center; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Troy Ledbetter of Wichita; grandchildren, Amber Harris, Stephannie Erie, Chance, and Cooper McKibbin, Hannah, Jason, and Alexandria Barbour, Tyler Brown, Ian Dowty; great-grandchildren, Kyler, and Nolyn Harris, Payton Bowling, Revyn McKibbin, Aleana, and Koby Erie. Memorials have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202 and Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 7901 W. 21st N., Wichita, KS 67205. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Downing and Lahey West Mortuary and funeral service will be 10:30 am Friday, April 14, 2017, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
