Robert Pecchioni was born on Dec. 14, 1946 in New York City, NY and died in Wichita, KS on September 17, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife, Take Aiy Wagukawa Pecchioni; and parents, Joseph Pecchioni and Loretta Dueser Pecchioni. He is survived by his siblings, Frank Pecchioni, Loretta Pecchioni and Kathy Pecchioni Graham; five nieces and nephews; and 11 great-nieces and nephews.
Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War, being stationed in South Korea as a radio operator. His interest in electronics played a key role in his work life; including several decades at Ascension Via Christi.
Robert lived most of his life in Wichita. He loved his family and friends; as well as several rescue dogs and cats, all of whom lived long, happy lives with him and Aiy. Rob’s eclectic interests included classical and jazz music (who else had 11 versions of the opera Carmen and could tell you the strengths and weaknesses of each version), baseball, history, and photography.
Inurnment for Robert and his wife, Aiy, will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Lakin Comanche Cemetery, Ellinwood, KS. Celebration of Life will be from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary, Wichita, KS.
