Rodolfo "Rudy" Garcia, Sr.

Rodolfo "Rudy" Garcia, Sr., 61, retired USD 259 Custodian, died Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Service will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Central Community Church Chapel. Rudy was a coach for basketball, baseball, and football. He had a real passion for teaching and coaching kids. He was a big sports fan, including the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Lakers and the San Diego Padres. Rudy enjoyed motorcycles and the lifestyle that came with it. He was an amazing Dad, Tio, Primo, Brother and Son. Rudy was preceded in death by his brothers, Rolando Garcia, and Ruben Garcia, and recently by his father, Oscar, on Friday, February 7, 2025. He is survived by his mother, Ernestina Garcia; sons, Rodolfo "Rudy" O. (Megan) Garcia II, Jose (Lauren Lies) Garcia, Malachi Garcia; grandchildren, Kailena, Rodolfo III, Penelope, Rafael, Braylon, Beckham; brothers, Raul (Michelle) Garcia, and Roberto (Tonia) Garcia. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with: League 42 Foundation, 1212 East 17th Street North, Wichita, KS 67214.

I met Rudy back in 1996-97, at a custodial Inservice, and of course he was acting up, cracking on fellow custodians and making everyone laugh, what a guy, he will be missed, my Condolences and Prayer to the Family

I’ve known Rudy and the Garcia family all of my life. Our families were friends. We grew up together in the NorthEnd. I’m sorry I cannot attend your celebration of life. I am out of town. Rest easy now my friend, tell Ruben hey for me!

Although my Family did not grow up in the north end, my Mom & Dad were friends with many northern families. I remember going to the Garcias get together n dancing in their drive way not only Rudy but all thevGarcia’s along with many other families were always so nice n Welcoming of us. Rudy was always such a fun person.to be around. RIP Rudy. Keeping the Garcia Family in my thoughts n ππΌππΌππΌ
