Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Dear Emma and Family: Bob and I are sorry to learn of Roger’s passing. Although we never was down to see you following your move from Holton, we often thought of you both, and talked about the good times we had boating, etc. Roger was a great Trooper and friend. Take care Emma, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Bob and Edna Brock

  2. To Emma and family, I reget that I cannot join you in a final tribute to Roger. His passing brought back many fond memories of his quiet, dependable, confident service to Kansans as a trooper and sergeant. For years after you had moved from Holton, people would ask me if I knew Roger and then would proceed to tell me how they respected him and held him as a model for the highway patrol and law enforcement. In the later years of his career, it was always so pleasing to see how much he enjoyed working with drivers, young and old, while continuing to create a positive image for both himself and the patrol. Most of us caused someone to say a harsh or critical word about us during our tenure – Roger always got positive reviews! I’ll always feel it was my priviledge for you to have shared him with the public, fellow troopers…..and with me. Thank you!

  3. Dear Emma, I was so sorry to read about Roger in the paper. I know he has been incapacitated, and you have been wonderful to him, but I also know how very much you will miss him. My heart aches for you. I will be thinking of you and your family with deepest sympathy. Sincerely, Georgia Johnson Chandler

  4. Emma, It really saddened Harley and I to see that Roger had passed. You don’t know how many times we have thought about you and Roger, and wondered how you were doing. Many times I have thought about ‘Thompson’s Daycare’ at the old association office, and what good times we had. I’m still plugging away at the NECA, just at a different location, and 3 bosses later, than when we both worked together. Please know that Harley and my thoughts are with you during this time, and that we will always remember Roger fondly. I will be out of town at a Board meeting during the services, so I apologize for not being able to attend, but you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please call sometime, and we’ll catch up. 265-7067 – work or 789-8750 – home
