Roger William Ploeger

February 3, 1961 ~ October 19, 2023
Roger William Ploeger, 62, passed away October 19, 2023. Roger was born February 3, 1961, in Lakin, KS to parents Cletus and Mary Ploeger.
Roger grew up on a farm in Deerfield, KS. Then later moved to Garden City in his later teenage years. He worked for Case International in Ulysses, Kansas and worked as a farm hand in Mead, KS. During these years he meet Tracy Lynn Martin, they were married January 29, 1981, and later divorced. To that union two sons were born, Shane Allan and Brandon Wayne.
He and Tracy moved the family to Wichita where Roger began work for Boeing. After many years of working at Boeing, Roger left there and created R & S Lawns Landscaping co-owning it with his son Shane. Many families and businesses have beautiful lawns due to their hard work and job quality.
Roger’s hobbies were automobiles, Corvettes were at the top of his list, then he discovered Model A’s and Model T’s. He was in seventh heaven when he was taking you for a ride in one. As tough as he was on a job site, he was also a very caring man in helping others.
Roger is survived by sons Shane Ploger of Wichita, and Brandon Ploeger of Goddard; two grandsons, Tristan and Corbin; sisters, Terri Colburn of Topeka and Traci Harrison of Wichita. He is preceded in death by his parents Cletus and Mary Ploeger
A memorial service will be held November 3rd 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Downing and Lahey West Mortuary.
Roger and I were good friends since we were 16 years old. His passing saddens me to the core.
Brandon & Shane: please accept my condolences and sympathy.
