Ruth Gwendolyn Sease
March 15, 1914 ~ August 16, 2005
Sease, Ruth Gwendolyn, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2005. She was 91. Service 9:30 A.M., Saturday, August 20 at Grace Presbyterian Church. Ruth was born March 15, 1914 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, the daughter of E. C. and Mary Groskinsky. She was a graduate of Chanute High School and also studied at Neosho County Community College and the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley. On June 6, 1941, Ruth married Waldo Van Buren Sease, who passed away in October of 2002. Ruth worked for 25 years as an executive secretary in the International Division of Beech Aircraft. In her retirement years she was active in military affairs at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, where she served in reception at the base hospital and worked on the monthly retirement newsletter. She was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church, and was active in the McConnell Officers Wives Club, McConnell cancer support group and the Day Ladies Investment Club. Preceded in death by a sister, Lois Sowle and a brother, Keith Groskinsky. She is survived by sisters, June Chapman of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Reva Barnhill of Sugar City, Idaho; a host of nieces and nephews; and by her very good friend and companion, Donald B. Elliott of Wichita. A memorial has been established with Grace Presbyterian Church, 5002 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS, 67208. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
