Ruth Marie Landry

Ruth Marie Landry, passed away on June 16, 2021, at the age of 93. Ruth was born on October 1, 1927, in rural Clyde, KS, to Arthur and Goldie (Miller) Resco. In 1949 she married Albert Rex Landry. They resided in Wichita until 1976, when they moved to an area near Goddard. Ruth worked for many years as a secretary in the oil industry. After she retired, Ruth was very involved as a leader in Bible study and fellowship at the Tyler Road Baptist Church, Wichita, where she had been a member for many years. She is survived by her sister-in law, Dolores Landry, Clyde, KS, and her nephews and nieces: Ron Barton and wife Jeri, Ravenal, SC; Ramona Stanley, Belleville, KS; Ilene Kralovetz and husband John, Clayton, OK; Marie Landry and husband Tim Marchand, Topeka; Mike Landry and wife Diane, Woodbridge, VA; Patricia Hamilton, Topeka; Phil Landry and wife Stephanie, Excelsior Springs, MO; John “JJ” Landry, Jr., Reno, NV, and Mark Landry and his wife Mary, La Porte, IN. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Reba Price, Mae Resco, Erma Barton, Laura Beth Resco, and brother, Claire Resco. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West, 10515 W. Maple, Wichita, KS. Services will be held at Tyler Road Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021, with the Rev. Bryan Jones officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Clyde, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Kansas Humane Society.
