Ruth Schmidt

Ruth "Granny" Schmidt, 66, Mother, Granny, Nutritionist and member of House Gryffindor, gave herself to the force on January 27, 2018. Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Ruth spent the last 18 years of her life living in Wichita, Kansas to be close to her son, grandsons and their families. She enjoyed being a wonderful mother, granny, sister and friend to all who knew her. She loved spending time with her family, going to concerts, watching movies, playing cards and going to the casino. All who knew Ruth, loved her and enjoyed the joy and enthusiasm she brought to life. Visitation will be 6-8p.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral Service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2018, at Lescher Millsap Funeral Home, 2801 Chandler Rd., Muskogee, OK 74403. Preceded in death by her parents, Orain Wesley Schilt and Lissie Marie Mode. Survived by her son, Heath (Katrina) Schwartz of Wichita; sister, Alice Marie Wilson of Muskogee, OK; grandsons, Cole Schwartz, Austin Schwartz, Brenden Schwartz, Jacob Peterson; granddaughters, Lauren Peterson, Abigail Peterson, Isabelle Lynn; nephew, Jerry (Alice) Townsend of Ft. Gibson, OK; great-niece Sarah Townsend.
