Sally Sue Arbuckle

Sally Sue (nee Holroyd) Arbuckle, died early morning Wednesday September 27, 2017 after a long illness. She was born January 2, 1943 in Sedan, Kansas. After graduating as Salutatorian from Sedan High School, she attended cosmetology school in Wichita and worked in the field for many years. On December 31, 1961, she married Larry Arbuckle. She was an accomplished pianist, playing for most of her life. She excelled at tennis and received many competitive awards. When her husband became a polo player she became an avid fan of that sport, traveling many places for his competitions. She was a loving mother to her daughters, as well as a wonderful mentor to many especially her grandchildren and nieces and nephews for whom she was greatly valued as the Matriarch of a large and loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Harold Holroyd; and her beloved daughter, Ronda Lyn; and Larrys brothers, Edward and Ronald Arbuckle. She is survived by husband, Larry; daughter, Debra Dee; grandchildren, Alek Hansen, Hanna Hawley, Stratton Arbuckle; her sister and her husband, Jan and David Todd, and their sons, Justin and Travis of Niotaze; her brother-in-law and his wife, John Darrell and Priscilla Arbuckle of Whitinsville, MA; her sister-in-law, Hisako Arbuckle of Wichita; nieces and nephews, Aaron Arbuckle, Dustin Arbuckle, Justin Arbuckle, Nikki Pence, Dora Arbuckle, Jenna Beverly, all of Wichita; step-nieces and nephew, Kathy Atkinson, Marie Brown, and Eddie Courter; her cousin, Lou Ann Robertson, and her son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Sarah Schumacher; as well as numerous grandnieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church. Memorials have been established with the Wichita Childrens Home, 7271 E. 37th St. N., Wichita, KS 67226.
