SallyLou Willson La Pierre

La Pierre, SallyLou Willson, passed away peacefully at home, January 10, 2013 after a valiant battle with serious illness and cancer. Sally was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Lt. Col. (ret.) Robert E. La Pierre. She is survived by loving children, Jeannie Saum (Steve) of Columbus, Ohio; Robert, Jr. (Karen) of Great Bend; David (Theresa) of Wichita; 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; dear military friends of 40 years; and caring neighbors. Sally fulfilled her lifelong goal of being a wife and mother in an extraordinary way. She accompanied her husband to duty stations around the world, and was a strong independent single parent when he was deployed. She could do just about anything, from fixing electronics to sewing a suit jacket. She taught all she knew to her children. She was generous, inquisitive, fun-loving and encouraging. She will be forever cherished by her loved ones for the wonderful woman she was. Her family will hold a private memorial service.
