Samuel “Sam” Lentz, 72, CPA, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, August 25, 2017, at Congregation Emanu-El. After receiving his degree at Wichita State University, Sam was an accountant for over 40 years. Both Sam and Lauren were graduates of Southeast High School and were married for 48 years. The most selfless man we have ever known, Sam gave to others before himself until the end. His sense of humor will be cherished by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Sarah Anna Lentz; brothers, Nathan Lentz, Robert Lentz. Survived by his wife, Lauren Lentz; sons, Aaron (Michelle) Lentz, Jeremy Lentz, Adam Lentz, all of Wichita; daughter, Saranne (Andrew) Barker of Cary, NC; grandchildren, Asher Lentz, Kingston Lentz, Holland Lentz. A memorial has been established with Congregation Emanu-El 7011 E. Central, Wichita, KS, 67206. Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.

I remember Sam from high school and his lifelong association with a dear neighborhood friend of mine (BJ Cassady). He was really smart and a good, good guy. I know that he was afflicted with cancer and related issues recently. At peace now. Goodnight and Godspeed Sam, and thank you for sharing a part of your life with me.
