Wow, hearing about Sandy’s passing, came has a huge shock to me this Sunday Morning. 🙏😰
Now that I think back today, Sandy was a Beautiful, Classy and Intelligent Young Woman.
One memory I have is of the Graduation Class of ’60 photo session in Bob and Betty Gutru’s front yard. If I’m remembering correctly.
My Thoughts and Prayers go out to Sandy’s Family and Friends.

My cousin Sandy was always there from when we were small. When my family moved to Oregon, our connection was long-range, but we reconnected when we were both in Germany with husbands in the Army. While we didn’t always see each other often, it was always a fun reunion, with fun, laughs and sometimes even an adventure. As I think about it, I’m so glad we were able to stay for a while in Kansas and have a longer visit last fall. She was generous to a fault, and loved life. RIP, Sandy.
I dated Sandy through most high school. We had many great times together along with our good friends. She was bright and very witty. I am sorry to hear of her passing. May she rest in peace. And my condolences to her family. Ted Frieze
Our parents were friends and we went to the same church. I was part of the teen group picture Jim Hamilton showed. She was a great friend but went to Southeast. After high school we lost touch. May her soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace.
We first met Sandy at Kansas State University when we were students in the early 60’s. Sandy and I were in Mortar Board together our senior year. We visited her in Germany when she was living there in Stuttgart and we were stationed at McGuire Air Force base in New Jersey. Max took care of many of Sandy’s pets over the years when he was a veterinarian at the North Rock Animal Hospital. We enjoyed seeing Sandy and Jim at many K-State events and we toured Australia and New Zealand together in 2014. Will miss Sandy’s beautiful smile and love of adventure! Penny and Max Moss
I was sorry to hear today that Sandy passed away in December. We lived in the Gamma Phi Beta house together. During that time, I met her parents…I especially recall her handsome and friendly dad who was so good to us!!We roomed together one semester —-I was lucky ..she was generous in loaning me her Smith Corona typewriter( with Erase key). I tapped her for Mortar Board —KSU senior honor society. We kept in contact over the years—KSU games and Gamma Phi Beta House Corporation Board meetings. I knew she had health related issues related to fibromyalgia. I had not heard from her … and only last November I learned from niece Meredith that she and Jim had a townhouse in Colbert Hills—close to where I live. I was so sorry that she hadn’t called me!!!
My condolences to the family…I have shared this news with GPhi sisters from our era .
