Jobe, Sharon K. (Curmode), 66, retired Veterans Administration adjudicator, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011. Rosary and Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Preceded in death by father, Ellsworth B. Curmode and daughters, Jamie Zackula and Kelley Mingle. Survivors: husband, Robert K. Jobe; step-son, Kelly Jobe; step-daughter, Sherry Smith (Gaylan) both of Goddard, KS; mother, Marie Curmode; brother, Gary Curmode; sister, Judy Hotze (Chris); son-in-law, Greg Mingle, all of Wichita; grandchildren, Carson DeMuth, Greg Mingle, Jr., Justin Smith and Amanda Smith; many nieces and nephews. A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS, 67202. Rosary and Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East.

  1. Sharon was such a unique individual, funny, warm, caring, compassionate, and loving. You always felt better after seeing her or talking with her. She could always make you laugh and lift your spirits. What I would call a wonderful ‘soul’. I loved her and will miss her very much.

  2. Bob and Family- I am so very sorry for your loss of Sharon. Sharon was a wonderful person and kind hearted. She will be greatly missed! Please keep in mind that if you may need anything to feel free to contact me any way.

  5. Gary and family – I know it hurts to lose someone you love, but I also know it makes you smile to remember all the things about her that made her so special. Keep remembering and keep smiling. My prayers are with you.

  6. I knew Sharon for many years, and loved her always, she was always hot and I was always cold, but together we had a warm friendship. We laughed alot, about many things through the years. Marie and Bob, I know that you and your family will miss her and that she loved you all so much. My prayers are with you.

  7. Bob: Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Sharon was a joy to be around. I will miss her silliness and stories at our VA Retiree Lunches. She will leave a large hole in our retiree group.
