Shirley Ann (Nanny) Clain, 87 of Wichita passed away Sunday, February 16th, 2025, after a very short devastating illness. She was surrounded by her family at her home the last two weeks of her life. Ten of those days were spent laughing and enjoying life as the family loved on her. On behalf of her family, we are all very grateful for that time. We all loved her so much and she will be sorely missed. Shirley met her husband, Barry W. Clain Sr. in 1953 and were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wichita. The two were blessed with 4 children, Barry Jr., Terry (Mindy), and Robert, all three of Wichita, and Cheryl (Mark) Kelly of Conway Springs, Kansas. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, Chloe and Dylan Henderson, Kayla, Lane, Faith, and Lacy Kelly, Arianna, Elissa, and Mario Clain, Sienna, Quinten, and Hudson. Shirley met her husband who was an Airman at McConnell AFB in Wichita and was the proud mother of three boys who served in the military. 1. My Aunt Shirley was like a Mother or a Grandmother to me. I loved her so much! I will miss her laugh. There is no one that valued and loved her family like she did. When I think of the word family it will always be she that I think of. She will be missed and always loved. She impacted so many of us in a positive way that we will carry with for the rest of our lives. Prayers go out to the Clain family and the extended Nanny family. She will never be forgotten!

  2. Thank you Shirley, for attending our football, basketball and softball games, I know you were there for your Boys, but you were also there for the rest of us. Thank you for being the Mom some of us missed out on, and giving advice when needed. To the Clains, thanks for sharing her with the rest of us. We love you

  3. Barry brought his Mom to one of our March Madness Watch Parties. My husband and I were fortunate enough to sit down and have a Beer with her and watch some College Hoops. Your Mom was just such a special woman and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to meet her, Shirley was such a hoot and fit right in with our group. We are so sorry for your Loss. Roxe Ann and Kurt

  4. Mamaw- you will be missed beyond words. I know you are now home and in no pain, watching over us all. Thank you for always loving our entire family.
Uncle Barry- I love you! You just gained the most beautiful Angel ā¤ļøšŸ™šŸ¼
