May 15, 1953 ~ November 10, 2020
Stephen Elliott Cline
Surrounded by his loving family, Stephen Elliott Cline, went to his Heavenly home November 10, 2020. Steve was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on May 15, 1953 to Carl Clarence “Corky” Cline and Darlene Jean (Elliott) Cline. During his early years, Steve worked the land and raised cattle on the family farm in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, and attended a one-room schoolhouse where he often taught the younger children, including his brother, Bo. It was during Algebra class in high school that Steve met the woman who would later become his soul mate of forty-seven years, Roxane Bohr. The two were married on August 11, 1973. After graduating from Kansas State University in 1975 with a degree in Milling Science, Steve began a twenty-seven year career as a Feed Specialist and Area Sales Manager with Farmland Industries. This career led him and his family to many different places they called home. After retiring in 2009, Steve enjoyed substitute teaching for USD 308 in Hutchinson, Kansas. Steve was a hardworking, fun-loving husband, dad, and papa who enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, riding his motorcycle with the Heck’s Angels, and watching his sons wrestle. You could always find Steve sporting a well broken-in pair of cowboy boots and a mustache. Steve is survived by his wife, Roxane, and his sons Clay (Stephanie) and Vince (Casey). He was a storyteller extraordinaire to surviving grandchildren Britton, Blayre, Leena, and Cora. Steve was preceded in death by father Carl Cline, mother Darlene Cline, brother Barry “Bo” Cline, sister Connie Cline, and grandparents Vern and Maude (Davis) Cline, and AT and Joy (Tedrow) Elliott. One of the good ones!! Hard worker but a lot of fun to work for and with. Prayers to The family–Rusty Rothweiler–Farmalnd 1978-2004
Thank you, Rusty. I know he considered you a friend and enjoyed being together with you.
Steve was a wonderful friend. His arms and home were always open and loving. Roxy was the jewel of his life and OK extremely long suffering. I loved and love you both. My heart felt sympathy goes out to you in this hour. God bless and keep you.
Steve and I both think the world of you and Sherry and I know you were very dear to Steve. Some of his best memories were riding his motorcycle with our little “gang”.
We shared many memories in our wrestling days. Had lots of good memories and very fun times! Had a lot of laughs! You will be greatly missed my friend! My thoughts and prayers are with you Roxy and your family! God bless! Carol Thrash
One of my favorite memories is when the whole family gathered at the farm for Bob’s funeral in February. Steve got his AR out and his sons, daughter-in-laws, grandsons, niece and nephew went out to the tree row and lit it up! The whole family had a BLAST! He was so happy and proud when each took their turn, especially his grandsons, Britton & Blayre. Later that evening he threw his arms around me and announced to the family “We are brothers”. That was pretty special and we will always be brothers. You left us too soon and will be missed. Rest in Peace.
Steve had so much fun that day and loved the closeness of the family. I know for a fact he considered you as a true brother, as do I. Love you❤️
We are so sorry to hear about Steve. I remember those days going to the Mingona School and all of us occasionally walking home. He definitely was a hard worker even giving his little brother, Bo, a hard time feeding pigs on our farm. Steve enjoyed watching Bo run from the hogs with a bucket of feed. Steve will be missed. Kathy and Chuck Lane
Thank you, Kathy. I talked to Gary a couple weeks ago. Enjoyed the visit and got caught up with everyone. Thank you for the donation to K-State. That was a wonderful memorial and one Steve would be very pleased.
Dear Roxie, Clay, and Vince My heart broke when Matt called and gave me the news about Steve. I truly loved him like a brother. I cherish the time we spent supporting R/H wrestling, all the fund raisers we worked side by side. Steve always had an attitude and sense of humor that made me smile and enjoy the hard work. I respected Steve for the boys he raised, they are two of the finest young men I know. Roxie, please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of Steve. I will say it again, I loved Steve like a brother and I thank you and him for your friendship. Love Always Rod Steadham
Our RH wrestling family is still so dear in our hearts and I know Steve felt the same about you. So hard to believe Bob, Glen, and Steve are all gone. So thankful for those priceless memories.
Roxanne and family, my sincere condolences to you and your family. Although I did not know Steve that well in high school he none the less was a classmate of 1971. I remember him being extremely smart and being involved in FFA in school. RIP my fellow classmate. May the wind be at your back. Your journey downhill. The gentle rain clean your soul. Grace and peace Steve. God bless you…
Thank you, Jim. Good high school memories that just seem like yesterday.
Roxie and boys. So sorry to hear of your loss. We always enjoyed talking to Steve when we were out walking in the neighborhood. Prayers for you as you remember all the good times. Traci and Greg Simpson.
Thank you, Traci. He so enjoyed the Rose Hill neighborhood.
