Susan Belinda Forrest of Wichita, Kansas passed away on January 25, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on September 2, 1951 to Lyle and Betty VanHorn. She was a loving spouse, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life taking care of others needs first. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior as a child and lived the servant’s heart by helping others through love without expecting anything in return. She loved spending time with friends and family, babysitting the grandkids and attending their events, and weekly card games with friends. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, decorating her home and vacationing at the beach. Susan was preceded in death by her parents; two infant siblings; and her sister, Kathy Jo. She is survived by her husband, Rufus; her daughter, Rachel and her husband, Shane and their sons, Landon and Trevor; her son, Trey and his wife, Chastity and their three children, Bryce, Reagan, and Sawyer; her niece, Kim and her husband, Mitch and their two children, Trent and Garrett and wife, Anna, and great-grandniece, Kyla Jo. Wichita Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at NewSpring Church, North Auditorium, 12200 E 21st St N, Wichita, Kansas. Sapulpa Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Lexington Road Family Church of God, 811 Lexington Rd, Sapulpa, Oklahoma with interment immediately following at Green Hill Cemetery in Sapulpa, OK. In lieu of flowers she has asked that you make a donation to Victory in the Valley, 3755 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67218; American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.

    She was like a second mom to Michelle as she and Rachel spent so much time together growing up.
