Susan Elizabeth Bredehoft

Bredehoft, Susan Elizabeth, 77, Retired Secretary and Vice President of the National Petroleum Reserves, died Sunday, November 9, 2014. Rosary will be at 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, November 12, 2014; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, November 13, 2014, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Susan was born in Devils Lake, ND to James and Elizabeth Dunn Moore, who precede her in death. She attended St. Marys High School in Bismarck, ND, Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO, and Seattle University, where she received her Bachelors Degree in Education. She was a beloved grade school teacher for several years. She was active in the St. Thomas Aquinas Altar Society and served as a substitute teacher in the school. She was a co-founder of the SIDS Network of Kansas. She was also involved in the Assistance League of Kansas, serving as the Editor of their newsletter. Preceded in death by her son, T.C. Bredehoft, II; granddaughter, Haley Elizabeth Slaymaker. Survived by her husband of 54 years, Theodore “Ted” Bredehoft of Wichita, KS; son, Patrick Bredehoft (Karen) of Dallas, TX; daughter, Katie Slaymaker (Lance) of Overland Park, KS; brothers, David Moore (Marilyn) of San Diego, CA, Steven Moore (Barb) of Vancouver, WA, James Moore (Patsy) of Chesterfield, MO, Joe Moore (Mary Kay) of Cornelius, NC; sister, Patricia Churchill of Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, Colin Slaymaker, Reed Slaymaker, Riley Bredehoft, Libby Slaymaker, Audrey Bredehoft, Tate Slaymaker. Memorials have been established with St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 N. Stratford Ln., Wichita, KS 67206; and Amedisys Hospice of Wichita, 250 W. Douglas Ave #101, Wichita, KS 67202.
