Thayne D. "TD" Farrington, was born July 4, 1925 in Ingalls, Kansas, and departed this life on October 25, 2016. TD was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Edna (Parish) Farrington; his first wife, Mary Lou George, and his brother, Loyd Farrington. He spent most of his early years in Minneapolis, Kansas, and graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1943. In December 1943, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Following his discharge on April 30, 1946, he attended barber college on the GI Bill. For over 60 years, he worked as a barber in Wichita where he was known as "Bob the Barber." TD is survived by his sons, Curtis Farrington (Janine) and Paul Farrington (Lisa); his wife of 23 years, Jean (Heald) Farrington; daughter, Debi Lundquist (Mark); son, Chuck Markley (Arlene); granddaughter, Emma Pullman (Grant); grandsons, Jeffrey Markley (Sophie) and Robbie Markley, and great-granddaughter, Hazel Marie Markley. TD will be sorely missed by his family and a multitude of friends. Funeral services, 11 a.m., Saturday, October 29 at Southwest Presbyterian Church with arrangements by Downing & Lahey Mortuary West in Wichita. The graveside service will be 2 p.m., Monday, October 31 in Minneapolis, Kansas, conducted by Wilson Family Funeral Home in Minneapolis, KS. Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers. Suggested memorials are Southwest Presbyterian Church, Good Shepherd Hospice or Kansas Honor Flights.
