Therese Anne Terry Schlotthauer

Therese Anne (Aaron) "Terry" Schlotthauer, 87, died Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Catholic Care Center in Bel Aire, KS. Born in Wichita on October 12, 1930. She was the youngest of 10 children born to Robert Leo and Mary Adele (Stafford) Aaron. She attended St. Joseph Grade School, Mount Carmel Academy, Friends University and Wichita State University. Employed by Jenkins Music Company in Wichita, she met her future husband, Cecil and they were married June 25, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She sang in several church choirs and became the choir director at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in the 1950s. She also directed one of the choirs at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in the 1990s. Therese was the vocalist for the Jim Starkey Orchestra in the 1950s. She appeared regularly on KAKE TV "Party Line" program using the name "Terry Wayne." During this time, she served as a teachers aide in early childhood education and taught music, piano and vocal music. After returning to Wichita in 1989, she and her husband delivered Meals On Wheels in Wichita for 25 years and blood products to hospitals in Kansas and Oklahoma for the American Red Cross for 24 years. Survived by her husband of 66 years, Cecil E. Schlotthauer of Wichita, KS; children, Karen “Mikie” (Louie) Antos of Dallas, TX, Terry (Tom) Glover of Omaha, NE, Amy Schlotthauer (Brian Harms) of Boulder, CO, Laura Williams (Troy Moody - Fiance) of Wichita, KS, Stan Schlotthauer of Rapid City, SD, Greg Schlotthauer of New York, NY; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert Leo and Mary Adele Aaron; 9 brothers & sisters. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
