ANDOVER - Johnson, Dr. Thomas E. (T.J.), 74, retired radiologist, died Saturday, May 9, 2015. He was preceded in death by parents, Edwin (1971) and Lucille Burke Johnson (1985). T.J. is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Katie (Tim) Filby and four grandsons (Kellen, Brennan, Brett, Connor); sons, Casey Johnson of Andover and T.J. Johnson (Jamie Neighbor) of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. T.J. is also survived by his sister, Nancy Lorden (Tom) of Rockford, IL, and their four children, Tom (Katie) Lorden, Danny (Kristie) Lorden, Kathleen (Bryce) Martin, and Molly Lorden. There are also 10 great nieces and nephews in the Lorden family. Also surviving T.J. are two sisters-in-law, Diane (Howard) Lachenmeyer of Wichita, and her three children, Kevin (Karen) Grace, Jeff (Allison) Grace, and Brady (Jennifer) Grace; and Beth Lowe of DeSoto, KS, and her two children, Amy Lowe and Sam Lowe. T.J. was a life-long seeker of knowledge. An Eagle Scout, he graduated from St. Thomas High School in Rockford, IL, class of 1959. He earned a scholarship to the University of Illinois, graduated from Loyola (Chicago) University and Loyola Medical School. He completed his radiology residency at the University of Wisconsin and completed his course of studies at Baylor University, studying neuroradiology. Post-graduate, he completed an internship with NASA. T.J. was a partner for 23 years in the Wichita Radiology Group at Wesley Medical Center. Aside from medicine and science, T.J.s passions were many. He and Linda traveled, golfed at some of the worlds great courses, played tennis and enjoyed many bicycle trips. He cherished his grandsons. His artistic talents included architecture, sculpture, photography, writing poetry, and woodworking. He loved his dogs and all living creatures. He also had a love of gardening, read voraciously and enjoyed music. Tom was a long-time member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Andover.
