Thomas Morris Small, 98, Retired Supervisor at Beech for 42 years, died Saturday, November 10, 2018. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am, Friday, November 16, 2018, at College Hill United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Regena; parents, John William and Mary Ethel Small; 4 brothers; 5 sisters. Survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Steven) Schumann, Sheila (Kenneth) Moody, both of Overland Park, KS, Candace Gilbert of Wichita, Debra (Roger Fagre) Small of Overbrook, KS; grandchildren, Stephanie Schumann, Mike Schumann, Tom Moody, Fred Moody, Bill Volhein, Jay Gilbert, Sarah Gilbert, Prairie Small; great-grandchildren, Luke, Michael, Daniel, Carley, Sam, Taylor, Max, Autumn, Billy, Jenna, Evelyn, Kaweah, Atsah, Clover, Jed, Ike, Gus, Mac, Mae Bess. Thomas was born in Springfield, MO and raised in Englewood, KS. He attended Dodge City Community College and graduated from Fort Hays State University with his bachelors degree. Thomas served in the Navy during both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He resided in Wichita since his marriage to Regena in 1941. He was active in his church and the Sunflower Horseshoe Club. Thomas is "Uncle Tom" to many nieces and nephews and was truly loved by all. A memorial has been established with: College Hill United Methodist Church, 2930 E. 1st St. N., Wichita, KS, 67214. Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.
