Thomas W. Tallman

Thomas W. “Tom” Tallman, 86, 3x retiree, Toms OK Tire Store Owner, Starkey bus driver and Hertz driver, passed away March 21, 2013 at Harry Hynes Hospice Center, after a long battle with cancer. Memorial services are 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 525 W Douglas, Wichita, KS. Tom was born in Ft Scott, KS to Dr. Harry and Nannabelle Tallman. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother. After serving in the Army, Tom married Millicent (Millie) Newell almost 65 years ago and settled in Wichita to raise their 3 children. He was an extremely hard worker and worked thru his illness, stopping only 8 months before his passing. Family, friends and all who met him will miss him greatly as he was an extremely caring man and never met a stranger. Survived by his family: wife, Millie; children, Mark, Elaine, and Lisa; grandchildren, Lance, Dara, Abbra, Addie and Aley. Family suggests contributions to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or Victory in the Valley. Downing Lahey Mortuary West.
