Survivors: children, Loretta (Paul) Burns of Mankato, MN, Marcia (Juan) Valdez of Las Vegas, NV, Paul Edgar (Fay) Turner of Myrtle Beach, SC, Nancy Turner of Wichita and Mitch (Emilie) Turner of Mukilteo, WA; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with College Hill United Methodist Church, 2930 E. 1st, Wichita, KS, 67214. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.

Dearest Cousins, I can’t tell you how sad I am to learn of Aunt Philena’s passing. She was the kindest woman I ever knew and has such a special place in my heart. I have wonderful memories of all of you, and especially your mom and dad, and I am thankful that I had such wonderful people in my life. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. I learned many years ago that even if your parents live to be 100, you’re never really ready for them to go. I am so sorry for your loss. All my love, D’D’
