Van R. Calvin

Van R. Calvin, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on March 20th, 2023. Van was born in Winfield, KS, to Glenn and Joyce (Garoutte) Calvin. He graduated from Dodge City, KS High School in 1967. He joined the United States Army in October 1970, serving in Viet Nam. Van married Dede Foster on December 23rd, 1973. He was employed with Pepsi Cola Bottling in Dodge City, KS, Liberal, KS, and later transferred to Wichita, KS, where he retired after 45 years.
Van is survived by his wife, Dede of Wichita; son, Jeremy (fiancé, Circe Munson and her two daughters, Lily & Gabby) of Meridian, Idaho; daughter, Trisha Calvin; brother, Dan Calvin and wife, Rose, of Graham, Washington; and three grandchildren. Also survived by brother and sister in-law’s and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2023, at Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas. Services in care of Downing & Lahey West Mortuary.

I worked with Van when we both worked at Boothill in the summer….many yrs ago but I will always remember how funny and also how nice he was to me!! RIP Van
