Victor E. Klaassen, 94, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, retired CPA and farmer, died Saturday, May 17, 2025. He was born April 27, 1931, to Ethel and Ruben Klaassen in rural Harvey County. He graduated from Whitewater High School. In 1953, he was drafted into the U. S. Army. Victor graduated from Bethel College in 1958 and continued his education at Wichita State University majoring in accounting. He worked at F.B. Kubik as a CPA and later started his own CPA firm. He was a life long farmer at the family farmstead near Whitewater. Victor was an avid sports fan, cheering on his favorite team, WSU Shockers holding season basketball tickets for years. He was a member of the Grace Hill Mennonite Church and attended First United Methodist Church Wichita for many years. Victor married Elizabeth Tegeler and they had three children, William, AlmaAnn, and Melissa. After her death in 1973, Victor married Sawny Thompson McClure in 1982. She had two children, Amy and Michael. Victor is survived by his wife, Sawny of 42 years, children, William (Kristin) Klaassen, AlmaAnn (Doug) Jones, Melissa (Corey) Huntley, Amy (Tris) Felix, and Michael (Juli) McClure; seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Graveside Service will be 3:30 pm, Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Grace Hill Mennonite Church Cemetery, 10218 SE 12th Street, Whitewater, Kansas. Memorials have been established with: First United Methodist Church TV Ministry, 330 North Broadway, Wichita, Kansas 67202 and Mennonite Central Committee U. S., 21 South 12th Street, P. O. Box 500, Akron, Pennsylvania 17501.

  3. Vicc was a kind soul. He helped Lisa and I with our taxes when we lived in Wichita. My favorite memory was when we were lucky enough to get invited to his farm house. He fed us bologna and ketchup sandwiches. You will be missed.
