Victor Rifflel, Jr.

Riffel Jr., Victor Loving father and local businessman Victor {Barney} Riffel JR, age 89, passed away October 10th, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. Victor was born February 24th, 1926 in Wichita, Kansas and served honorably in the Navy during World War II. He was owner of Gibson Wholesale Co. Inc and Founder of Barneys Discount Drugs here in Wichita. Preceded in death by parents, Victor Riffel Sr and Jennie; first wife, Velma; brother, Fred; sister, Louise. Survived by wife, Joan Milasincic; children, Victor III (Tammy), Scott (Sandy), Dana Riffel, Rudy (Peggy) Milasincic, Eric Milasincic, Shannon Milasincic, Leeanne (Terry) Warner; grandchildren, Jessica, Victor IV, Kyle, Kelsey, Kaity, Kit, Adam, Rachel; great-grandchildren, Kemper, Mya, Avery; sister, Ruth Webster. Victor was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Victor also enjoyed a love of travel and especially cruising and was a lover of life in general. He enjoyed going to work at Barneys daily and the close interaction with his customers and employees which he considered an extension of his family. The relationships that were formed over his more than 68 years in business were cherished greatly by him. In Lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside St, Wichita, KS 67219 or Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1101 N River Blvd, Wichita, KS 67203. Celebration of Life will be at 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Downing Lahey Mortuary West.
