Virginia Frances "Ginny" LoBianco-Parr

Virginia Frances “Ginny” LoBianco-Parr passed away on January 14, 2024, at the age of 79 in Wichita, KS. Ginny was born on December 16, 1944 in White Plains, NY to Virginia Blattman and Francis Xavier Wadelton. She grew up in Scarsdale, NY and went to Catholic grade and high schools. She graduated from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in Language Arts. She worked for the NSA in Ft. Meade, Maryland where she met her first husband, Barry LoBianco. They married in 1968 and lived in York, PA where they had a son, Anthony Francis “Tony” LoBianco. They subsequently divorced and in 1985 she married Dennis J. Parr and became step-mother to Daniel and Michele Parr. She worked for York International Corporation as a computer systems analyst and, in 1997, she and husband Dennis moved to his home state of Kansas where Ginny transferred to a division of the company. York International was then purchased by Johnson Controls Incorporated (JCI). She retired from JCI in 2013 and continued her part-time position as Adult Education Coordinator at her church, Aldersgate United Methodist until the time of her death. Her passions included her faith, reading, gardening, her friends and nurturing relationships.Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, and is survived by her amazing and loving son, Tony LoBianco, her beautiful and devoted daughter-in-law, Amy, and her delightful and talented grandson, John Anthony, all of Lexington, KY; stepson, Daniel; and stepdaughter, Michele, both of Oregon; several cousins in New York, Maryland and Florida, and many loving and faithful friends around the United States.A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Wichita, KS. Her ashes will be combined with those of Dennis and interred in the Columbarium at Saint Raphael’s Episcopal Church, Lexington, KY.Memorials may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 7901 W. 21st St, Wichita, KS 67205; or to St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church, 1891 Parkers Mill Rd., Lexington, KY 40504.Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
Her soft voice and sweet smile are forever etched on my memories. Ginny’s faith was shared to anyone who needed love, hope or comfort. She is gone but not really — she is alive always in my memory.,
I’m sorry to hear of Ginny’s passing. I worked with Ginny for many years at York International and then JCI. She was a great co-worker and friend. I kept in touch with her occasionally, including watching her grandson grow up, and even got to visit her and Dennis in Wichita. She was so proud of her family.
