Virginia L. Sauer

Sauer, Virginia Lewis, 96, retired interviewer with the Kansas Employment Agency, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012. Rosary 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 30 and Funeral Service 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 1, both at Downing and Lahey East Mortuary. Virginia was born September 5, 1916 the only child of Charles A. and Della (Paris) Lewis and was a lifelong resident of Wichita. Growing up Virginia attended Wichita East High School, Friends University and Wichita University. Virginia was a member of the Kansas Quilt Guild and the last surviving member of The Happy Hookers Needlepoint Club. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred; daughter Suzanne Sauer Erickson and her parents. Survived by her sons, Fred Sauer (Donna) and Chuck Sauer (Debbie) both of Wichita; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; son-in-law Bob Erickson (Jan) and sister-in-laws Mildred Sauer and Florina Geissler.
