Rolfe, Virginia (Meier) “Virgie”, housewife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at The Homestead of Wichita in Wichita, Kansas, on Friday, February 24, 2006. Rosary and Visitation, 7:00 P.M., Sunday, February 26, 2006, Downing Lahey Mortuary West Chapel. Funeral mass, 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 27, 2006, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, Kansas, with burial immediately following in the St. Joseph Cemetery, also in Hays, Kansas. Virgie was born April 22, 1919 at Hays. She was preceded in death by husband, Vernie Rolfe; a son, Gary, who died of combat wounds in Viet Nam; her parents, Franz and Catherine Meier; four siblings, Lydia Stamper, Margie Fellers, Aurelia Rolfe, and Joe Meier. She is survived by a son, Ronald Rolfe, and his spouse, Sue, Wichita; sisters, Esther Rupp, Rita Rupp, both of Hays, Catherine Miles,Tucson,AZ; a grandson, Donald Rolfe, Rogers, AR; granddaughter, Lori, and her spouse, Terry Clotfelter, Lucama, NC; great-grandson, Michael Rolfe, Centerton, AR.
