Viva "Dot" Nell (Thompson) Bostic
Born February 26, 1924 in Conway, Arkansas. Passed peacefully at her home on July 31, 2017 at the age of 93. Dot or Granny as most people that knew her referred to her as, was a wonderful, compassionate woman. She loved her FOX News and listening to her Gospel music. She was a devoted Christian, loved her church, loved to play piano and sing. She loved to travel and had gone many places. We enjoyed all of her amazing storied when she came home. She traveled every year to see the Gaithers Singing group with her brother, nieces and nephews and a family reunion every year in Arkansas where she was born for the best fish fry by Sharon that she ever had. She loved to garden and used to have the biggest one in the neighborhood. She enjoyed Scrabble and was the champion at the game, no wonder why she was always Top 3 in the National Spelling Bee. She will be missed by many. We know she has her Golden Wings now and yes telling some great stories. Rest in peace our Granny, our Sister, our Aunt, our Friend! Preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Maggie Johnson Thompson from Conway, Arkansas; sisters, Carrie Hallum, Maria Williams, Lorene Thompson; brothers, Ana, Warren and Lewis Thompson. Survived by her brother, William (Doris) Thompson; grandchildren, Glenn (Monica) Leasher, Elizabeth Pierce, John Pete, Vincent Bostic, Jolena (Paul) Bostic; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kylie) Owens, Zachery (Jamie) Gill, Christopher (Dustie) Leasher, Danniele (Kody) Leasher, Jessica (Joe) Leasher, Zoee Bostic and Ember Bostic; 14 great-great-grandchildren, all of Wichita and surrounding areas; many nieces and nephews in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma; and many dear friends she held close to her heart.
