Gladhart, Warren Eugene, 90, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011, in Andover, KS. No Visitation. Celebration of Life, 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 18, Epworth United Methodist Church. Warren was born March 24, 1921 in White Cloud, KS. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Warren retired from Allstate Insurance after 30 years. He loved to travel, dance and follow K-State sports. Preceded in death by wife, Bea, sons, Kent and Stephen and brother, Gordon. Survived by daughter, Anne Catlin and husband, Roger, daughter-in-law, Linda Gladhart, and Warrens companion, Jeannette Altmanshofer, all of Wichita; sister, Geneva Krieg of Shawnee Mission, KS; brother, David Gladhart (Marion) of Moberly, MO; sisters-in-law, Lillian Myers of Hiawatha, KS and Marge Smith of Dodge City, KS; grandchildren, Amanda Luecker (Mike) of Phoenix, AZ, Rachel Gladhart of Juneau, AK, Elizabeth Gladhart, Luke Catlin (Carrie) all of Wichita, Matthew Catlin (Lisa) of Andover, KS and 8 great-grandchildren. Dad married Bea on July 6, 1944. After the service, he had several jobs, but his favorite was selling Allstate Insurance. He and his friends worked out of their own office and those friendships lasted a lifetime. He was an avid racketball player at the YMCA and played most days on his lunch hour. Dad coached his sons baseball teams every year. A favorite activity was wrestling on the living room floor with all 3 kids ~ he always won. Dads church was very special to him, along with the relationships that were formed. When we were concerned about his driving, he promised that he would only drive to church. After Bea died, Dad joined the Good Grief Group, and eventually met Jeannette. They met at one of the luncheons, but the relationship really got serious when they realized that they both walked at the mall every day. They held hands when they walked. Dad became very close to Jeannettes 4 daughters and their families, and there was always laughter when they got together. A memorial has been established with Epworth United Methodist Church, 856 S. Green, Wichita, KS, 67211. Downing Lahey Mortuary East. No Visitation.
