Wesley Alan Hawk, 56, was called peacefully to his heavenly home on June 21, 2020 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born November 20, 1963 in Wichita, Kansas, the first son of Don and Phyllis Hawk. He married Becky Hight on July 23, 1988 in Wichita, Kansas. They were blessed with five beautiful children. Wes worked in aerospace his entire career mostly at Cessna Aircraft building leadership and technical skills that led to his respected position as Senior Director of Supply Chain Performance/Transfer of Work for Tech Mahindra. Wes and Becky met on the first day of their freshman year in high school and had an instant connection. They were soulmates and the happiest of times were spent with their family. Wes was a protector of all, especially of his family. He was always there to support and guide. Wes was especially active in the athletic activities of his children by coaching and supporting all of their different sports. He especially loved participating with his children in baseball and track, two of his favorite sports. Wes was a baseball player in college and never lost his love of the game and enjoyed sharing that passion with his sons. He also had a special love for track sparked by his father, Don, and passed that on to his children whom he supported in their different areas of javelin, throws and pole vault. He was a very faith filled man and an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Wichita. Wes was a gifted leader with great wisdom. Over the years he served in many areas within the parish and school with most of his ministry focused on choir, social justice, religious vocations, and stewardship. Wes recognized we are called to serve and be a witness to the faith, with the ultimate goal of heaven and he shared that wherever he went by his words and actions. Wes was preceded in death by his father, Don. He is survived by his wife, Becky; children, Collin (Ashlynn), Lauren (Joe), Caitlin, Meghan (Matt), Weston; grandchildren, Bryton, Bowen, Laken; mother, Phyllis (Tom); brother, Brad (Steph); uncle, Tom (Patsy); other aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. 6. My heart goes out to Wes’ entire family. I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Becky and the kids but our thoughts and prayers are covering all of you. So many memories of Wes and Brad from my childhood as the four of us “Stump kids” and the two Hawks boys loved playing and being together. These memories go way back starting in McPherson, KS when we were very small and our mother’s were very great friends. Wes was always such a gentleman even as a little kid. Loads of love and hugs to Phyllis and Brad. Love, Shari Price

  11. I just came across this today. I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. Becky, we think of you often and the time we shared with you in Houston. We still eat pickles on our chili thanks to you and Wes! Jack is still riding bike every other day, weather permitting. I’ve been retired from teaching Spanish for the last six years. Jack has been retired from electrical engineering for two. We’re still in Colorado.
Driving home to Wisconsin this summer. If you’re not too busy, we’d enjoy getting together as we pass through Wichita on August ~16-17, 2024. Let me know. 303-589-1937. Love, Jo Scharf
