Wilda L. Woody Tucker

Wilda L. “Woody” (Teeter) Tucker, 89, of Hutchinson, died December 3, 2014. Woody was born November 6, 1925 in Haddam, Kansas, the daughter of the late Vernon Jay and Edna C. Teeter. She graduated from Lawrence (KS) High School in 1943. Woody married Dean Tucker on August 30, 1949 in Los Angeles, California during an on air broadcast of the “Bride and Groom” radio show. She and Dean lived and worked in Manhattan until 1975 and then moved to Hutchinson. Woody worked at the First National Bank of Hutchinson until she retired at age 70. She was preceded in death by husband, Dean. Survivors: three daughters, Debra Albair (William) of St. Louis, MO, Julie Hogan (Jack) of Broken Arrow, OK, and DeAnn Gradert (Steve) of Wichita; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, December 7, Huntington Park Apartments Clubhouse, 1313 N. Maize Ct. in Wichita. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Anderson Elementary School, 2945 Victoria, Wichita, KS 67216. Arrangements by Downing Lahey Mortuary West in Wichita.
